BAPUR meeting in Santander, Spain

Last week BAPUR had the third in-person meeting in Santander, Spain.

After the Riga and Turku events, the partners reunited once again in Santander for a project status check and the planification of further actions.

The agenda consisted in a team-building activity, the presentations of D4RUNOFF and WATERSENS and the updates of the work packages contemplated in BAPUR project.

On the current advances, several key points were explained:

  • The use of different lignocellulosic materials as adsorbents (lignings of invasive species or waste materials), the use of hybrid materials.
  • The develompent of different structures of adsorbents (membranes, cartridge, crystal fibrils, etc).
  • The development of analytical techniques for the detection of contaminants of emerging concern (CECs).
  • The assessment of the state of the art of CECs in European waters.
  • The development and testing of a multi-layered filtration sistems.

The collaboration between parters and interested institution was emphasized in order for the project being efficient and succesful in it’s mission.
